I just wanted to inform you guys that I've finished my fir pack:

Quote:

This pack contains:
4 LODs per fir: from ~2000-700 polys
29 .dts files
29 .max files (3dsmax9)
29 .ms3d files
3 shadow projection textures

The 29 model files are:

* 15 firs
* 4 cutdown firs
* 2 cutdown fir piles
* 3 "dead" firs
* 1 "fallen fir module"
* 3 stumps
* 1 pile of twigs

We all like to read text, but we like pictures even more, so here they are:

Again a link to us:
3D-Diggers
Or directly to the shop: www.3d-diggers.de/webshop/product_info.php?products_id=141

Firs & Friends (update 2)

It's time for another firry update!

As some of you might have read, I'm currently working on a fir pack.
In sum there now are 15 different firs:

But not only firs will be in the pack:
Cut-down trees:

a pile of brushwood:

a fallen-tree-module:

and last but not least, some "faked shadows" (placed with the TLK-Decalprojector f.ex.):

Now I'm going to build a little test mission and some other "props" for it and then it should be basically finished ;)

Speaking of firry-firs.... Any programmer out there who wants to create a furry-fir?
Meaning a fir with a fur-shader.
This way you could simulate the fir-needles... (?)
Maybe it doesn't work out the way I think/hope it would, but it sure would be a interesting task to tackle!
(even though its probably not suitable for real-time rendering yet)

Mega poly sorting finally accomplished (new firs - WIP!)

Currently I'm working on a new 3D-Diggers fir-pack:

The main and hardest work is done: the beloved sorting, which I've spent days on...
In one of the "worst" cases, I counted exactly 199 groups of polys which wanted to be sorted in Milkshape (by hand).
That's when you allmost start crying and would rather go back to bed than sitting in front of the PC ;)

But somehow I masterd this task and now it's up to varying these models to get a more natural look.
And maybe some fallen trees and cut-down trunks.
Anyway, it's now up to the fun part!

I'll keep you up to date ;)

Things are getting hot!

Allthough the weather is getting colder and colder here by us in Austria (definitely not ready for the winter yet ;) ), things are getting hot around here!

It's been a while since you heard some news from the Diggers or from me (my last blog was in that time where they were still called "plan files" I think... )
As time went by, a lot of things have changed.
In my case, I am now studying at the University of applied sciences in Hagenberg/Austria, which is really a lot of fun and at least the same amount interesting (if not even more!).

Also, the Diggers were involved in some very interesting side projects.
That had the result that we didn't bring out much content packs the last year.
But this shall change again.

Next to the 3D-Diggers animal packs which are near release, we are working on some player models.
Here is a little preview of the male and the first official 3D-Diggers 3dsmax render at the same time!

(hey, for a first pic not bad huh? :D )

Now, what will the future bring?
Since we now finally have 3dsmax & ZBrush 'in the pocket', we are fit for the future and all very excited about creating more content packs!
So, keep on diggin!

Chris
3D-Diggers

3D-Diggers tree pack: create a whole forest easily and in which season you want!

3D-Diggers tree pack:
I'm currently working on a tree pack for the 3D-diggers, which will contain 4 different tree types, the first (firs) are allmost finished, here some pics:

The goal of this pack is, to create not only one tree of a kind, for example with the firs, you should be able to create a whole forest :)
(including all seasons)

The second tree type is the so called horn beam.
I don't yet know what the other two will be.

And oh yeah before I forget: all trees which have it nessasary have LODs.

The release date should be before december, I hope!
(just in time for Christmas ;D )
So check out our homepage once and a while: http://www.3d-diggers.de/
