Design, concept, and research. Thusly, i plan to pull together a "Design Group" Rather than a small game developer.

With the fact that i have trouble maintaining a working skill level in programming; in any language with the exception of BASIC. So i have decided to be solely a designer and researcher. I have a few friends in both programing and artistic skill levels and have worked with me in my current project(s). And so, i will welcome any of those that wish to help me in being part of a design group. and notice that as a design group, that if you need a designer/researcher/artist. Then I (possibley and hopefully, we) can help.

Right now i have one writer/designer that is willing to work with me. looking for a standard programmer, two or more hopefully, and at least one each of artist and level designers.

to build up the group and pull together at least one finished product. the whole while gathering freeware/shareware resources for the beginner and cheap-bastards game design and development.

a very simple RPG for my little brothers. something that is easy to understand and even easier to play. my little brothers are very young, and i think they'd enjoy a game just for them.

i plan to call it Nano, for it's simplisity. instead of straight numbers it would be just a set of 'orbs' to determine the general stats of the characters. and cards to play the game it'self.

in order to fully understand game play mechanics i've decided to to start by fooling around with old school rpg's and make a few of my own. i'm working on two currently. One of which is a d20 varaint based on the basic Wizards of the coast system. As forthe other, it's a very simple , minalistic system that is all origanal.

in a few days , or at least by next month, i should have a general set of rules for my minimalist system. after that i plan on creating a small sample campaign to go with it. after which, i plan on playing through email to test it, myself as the DM.
**Update:3-16-03>
i've gotten the character generation, and general rule set, although not very detailed, it's coming along. but i'll have to delay the play testing a large amount. i was over opitimistic in that regard. i have a few more ideas that i will post later on.
