Torque Boot Camp
Torque is a complex and incredibly feature rich engine. From simulation theory to high performance networking to scripting language integration to hundreds of objects interacting and rendering real-time at millisecond speed so where do you start? There are half a million lines of source codeand the challenge of coming up to speed so that you can use Torque with maximum efficiency to meet your project requirements is more than half the challenge for successful development of quality products.
What can Torque Boot Camp do for me?
Ever wanted to know from the experts the best way to implement a new object class? How about the ability to discuss with the authors the award winning Torque Networking implementation? Torque Boot Camp provides all of this, and more! In 3 days you will walk out of the classroom with a better understanding of the underlying capabilities and concepts of Torque than you could ever imagine...and be able to leverage your new understanding of the Torque Engine for efficient and accurate implementation of any project need.
Torque Boot Camp will teach you:
- How the Torque Simulation operates from object processing and communication to smart referencing and management of every object in the simulation
- Detailed specifics of the capabilities, uses, and expandability of Torque Networking including the move management system, control object capabilities and techniques, object ghosting and updating, as well as remote procedure calls between client server
- In-depth understanding of the Torque Object Hierarchy from the highest root classes down to the most fully featured child classes such as Player, Vehicle, and more
- Design and implementation strategies based upon a holistic understanding of proven methodologies for Torque development
- Many other critical systems and features of Torque to give your projects a strong edge over the competition
Which Boot Camp is right for me?
Torque's adaptability to so many different projects means that our customers come from a very large and diverse set of markets, from Independent Game Developers and Hobbyists to AAA Game Development Studios. Because of this diversity, GarageGames provides two different versions of our seminars to meet the needs of each market.
Commercial
The Commercial Boot Camps are designed to provide high intensity training for commercial development studios utilizing Torque for AAA game development, virtual world simulation for any target market, or adaptation of the Torque environment for other commercial uses. The course focuses on both the technical information required for successful production of titles, as well as best use practices and methodologies for studio based product production and deployment.
Indie
Independent Game Development is tough! Torque provides a AAA engine that has been proven in the industry, as well as an extremely active and capable community to assist Indie Developers, but sometimes it can be hard to go that extra step to produce a quality game. Indie Boot Camps are designed to give that extra leverage needed to meet your dreams by giving you the knowledge and understanding you need. Indies need not only technical knowledge of Torque to be successful, but also benefit from techniques and strategies for small team development that our instructors can provide. This course gives you what's important to a firm understanding of the Torque technology, as well as a class environment to discuss your unique challenges.
