What's New?

Now that Torque Game Builder has been out for several months, we are starting to see quite a few
game projects and prototypes surfacing, some from our own artists and developers here at the Garage, but
what's even more exciting for us is that several of them are coming from the community!
To show off some of these projects, we have put up a brand new TGB Demos page. The games
up on that page are available for free download. These games not only demonstrate what can be
accomplished in a short time using Torque Game Builder, but they also show off several of TGB's features,
such as parallax scrolling, particle effects and animations, and GUI elements.
We will be continuously building and updating the TGB Demos page, so check back often to see what the community has
come up with lately!

Currently available demos include:
Marble Tactics from Gregory Stewart
The object of this game, created with an early version of TGB, is to make lines of 4 or more marbles in horizontal, vertical, or diagonal lines. Each time you move a marble a new one is added to the board, except when you complete a line. According to the designer and programmer, this game took approximately 3 months to complete and the total budget, not including the TGB license, was under $200.
TankBuster from the GG Demos team
This simple playable demo shows how easy it is to pull together a quick side scroller level. Featuring Nate Feyma's art and coding from Matt Langley, TankBuster demonstrates horizontal and vertical parallax scrolling, particle effects and animations, flexibility in the image and particle system to achieve plane damage states, easy Level Builder integration, and simple GUI elements.
Sploidz from Joshua Dallman
Sploidz is a free gem dropping and matching game made using TGB. You match colored gems togeather to make them explode. Collect the letters that spell SPLOIDZ to complete the level. All art and all code was subcontracted out 100%. Credits include Andreas Kirsch (lead coder), Magnus Blikstad (lead artist), and others. All sounds except for explosions come from Mojo Audio's Arcade Sound Pack.
