Torque Game Builder Pro - INDIE License
This is the Pro version of Torque Game Builder, which includes source code, with our special Indie discount. To purchase this product you need to be an Indie (am I an Indie?). If you want to purchase the binary-only version, you need to buy Torque Game Builder.
You have an idea, but not enough time, know-how, or resources to start from scratch and create your own tools and technology. Torque Game Builder (TGB) offers an unmatched set of features, including animated sprites, flexible tiles, particle system, swept-polygon collision, rigid body physics, and hardware-accelerated 2D rendering. A perfect entry into game development and springboard to other, even more powerful GarageGames tools.
As a full-featured, next generation 2D engine, Torque Game Builder is your ticket, making it fast and fun to go from concept to completion. The ToolSet Editors give you easy access to GUI creation, complex tiles, particle effects, level building, and packaging, making it possible to program high-end functionality into your game and turn your vision into a playable reality. CodeOnce in TorqueScript, then build your end-product for other platforms in just hours. Take advantage of step-by-step tutorials, a complete reference guide, and support from GarageGames experts and the extensive online community.

Features
PIXELBLAST
TGB's hardware-accelerated rendering engine handles sprites, parallax scrolling, 3D objects, layers, camera, and multiple scenes with ease, quickly converting your vision into reality.
- Hardware Accelerated SceneGraph Driven Framework
Hierarchical data structure which manages your game's parameters. Change game-wide properties or only those pertaining to a specific class of objects.
- Full Sprite Support
Sprite rendering in TGB is ultra-fast. Scale, rotate, and animate them or outfit them with full collision and physics properties.
- Parallax Scrolling
Define multiple scrolling backgrounds, which you can then sort and assign to different rendering layers with different scrolling speeds, simulating a 3D scrolling environment.
- Layers
Assign objects to layers, and sort for rendering, giving you fine-grained control over object z-ordering and rendering.
- Camera
Zoom, rotate, and pan the view any time, or mount the view window to any object.
TOOLSET
Manage particle effects, tile maps, user interface, level construction, and more with TGB's integrated editors, allowing you to spend more time designing and less time coding.
- Tile Editor
TGB supports richly animated tiles which are fully integrated with the collision and physics systems. Objects can collide with tiles, generating full physics responses on the object.
- Particle Editor
Manage effects, emitters, and particles by controlling texture, scale, visibility, color, intensity, motion forces, rotation, and other properties over time.
- GUI Editor
TGB's integrated WYSIWYG Graphical User Interface Editor makes it easy to create a custom GUI for your game.
- Level Editor
Click and drag objects and effects from a library of thumbnail previews, then edit them from inside the level editor with context-sensitive editing.
- Packaging Utility
Analyze your files and save them in the most efficient manner possible, automatically conforming to TGB's EULA.
PHYSICS ENGINE
- Rigid Body Dynamics
Torque Game Builder's rigid body dynamics models including inertia, linear velocity, angular velocity, friction, restitution, relaxation, and damping. - Customizable Collision Response System
Simulate collisions in just the objects you specify with the ability to turn on or off automatic updates from the default physics system.
COLLISION DETECTION
- Swept-Polygon Collision Detection
Dual-phase collision detection system performs sweptpolygon detection.
- Collision Polygons
Define tight-fitted custom polygons for your sprites which are sized along with the sprite.
- Collision Reactions
Generate explosions or other reactions at the points of contact between two objects.
CODEONCE
Your code will run on Windows, Linux, or OS X, and you can port it into other Torque products as well.
TORQUENET LITE
Incorporate turn-based multiplayer functionality into your game in a snap with TorqueNet Lite, adapted from the powerful Torque Network Library code.
TORQUESCRIPT
TGB uses the same scripting language as other Torque products. If you already use TGE, scripting will be second nature.
*SOURCEINCLUDED
You get the full C++ source code behind the engine. Join the modding community, or just use the improvements that others come up with.

Community Reviews and Discussion
Customer review from Matthew Langley, Aug 05, 2005 at 17:03 GMT
"A 2D game engine at a whole new level.
I've wanted to review this since the start but I've given some time to dig into it as much as possible, I still am finding gems and happy surprised inside this engine, things that I think about after months of dev time on the engine and find out its already supported and completely accessible from script with no modifications to the engine... simply amazing...
The community is great. The forums are very active.
I could go on all day but best advice is to pick it up and try it, its easily the most valued purchase I've made (along side TGE).
well enough talking, here are some very quick demos I've done to test out aspects of the engine.
Physics Demo (a quick demo of what you can do with the physics - this is even at the EA release!)
RTS Game done in 14 hours (part of the "Game in a Day" exhibition)
Simple game based on Physics done in 2 1/2 hours! (another GID - Game in a Day)"
