Torque 2D/iTorque 2D

Torque 2D is a powerful and easy to use game engine. In the classroom it is the perfect teaching tool to test and display real word game design, level editing, and applying script functions for physics, behaviors, and networking. iTorque 2D is included in the educational license so students and professors can see their games and projects in action on iOS devices including the iPhone, iPhone4, iPod touch, and iPad. iTorque 2D takes advantage of powerful iOS options including multi-touch systems, dragging, gyroscope, and accelerometer support.

Torsion

With Torsion professors and students are able to read, write, and test their TorqueScript projects within the same layout and environment. Torsion provides a number of advanced features that make teaching, learning, and using TorqueScript easier including: syntax highlighting, goto line and text searching, project tree view, one click script bebugging, step by step script execution for testing and teaching, and more.

Platformer Starter Kit

The best way to learn game design and programming is to create working game levels. The Platformer Starter Kit provides your students a jump start to creating fully playable levels. Use the platforms, ladders, ropes, hazards to avoid, items to collect, spawn points, check points, sound, animation, and object control included in this kit to quickly create example or full game levels. Basic AI behaviors and camera controls are also built into this kit.

Adventure Kit

For students interested in action, adventure, and role playing games, the TGB Adventure Kit allows you to focus on imagination and design without being a programmer or scripting expert. This kit allows you to drag and drop game elements and instantly test them in your game level. For those who want to go beyond game design you can use the items from the TGB Adventure Kit in a game level and then examine how the TorqueScript and code behind it works.

Kart Kit

The Kart Kit provides students and professors with the tools to create a "mode 7" style racing game like F-Zero or Super Mario Kart. The kit includes the example game "Cascadia Kart" -- a complete, published game with script, art, music, sounds, and source code. The Kart Kit documentation provides tutorials and instructions on how to modify the example game or build your own from scratch. The Kart Kit is fully optimized and tested on all supported 2D platforms.
