Torque Game EngineTorque Game Engine Documentation
Version 1.3.x

Summary And Thanks

We've taken a look at each and every working datablock defined in the Torque Game Engine (another datablock, PathedInteriorData, is defined in the engine, but does not work at present and so it is not covered here). Each datablock field is documented, and reflects usage as of Release_1_2_2 of the Torque Game Engine.

As stated in the introduction, the goal for this document was to provide an accurate description of each datablock field by essentially getting as close to the source-code as possible without simply doing a code-dump. Given brief room for descriptive text, it is impossible to use very casual language and maintain such accuracy, but efforts were made to be as clear as possible. For easier to read information, look for forthcoming official TorqueScript tutorials, which will cover datablocks and better address questions like "what are datablocks?", "why do you use them?", and "how do you use them?".

This documentation owes thanks to the Torque engine documentation team . Thanks also to all involved with the ConsoleDoc functionality. Community member Rick Smorawski deserves thanks for his Torque DataBlocks reference as well. Edward Maurina is thanked for his outstanding Essential Guide to the Torque Game Engine, which was used to make a couple revisions to the ParticleData datablock section.
