Project Manager
Description:
GarageGames is looking for a detail oriented project manager on a contract, contract-to-hire, or full time basis to coordinate several simultaneous projects.
Role
This role is vital to our success and the information you gather and manage will ensure that we deliver on schedule. The Project Manager will work with a Producer over each project whose job it is to ensure quality. You will be required to manage schedules, limit feature creep, offer trade-offs and resources. Put simply, your job will be to manage critical risks and foster team buy-in and commitment to their work.
Experience
Project management dogma doesn't impress us; our ideal candidate is more interested in results than complying with any single method or practice. We expect our project managers to understand people and team dynamics, to think on their feet, listen to their team members, and to have a robust enough toolset to adapt accordingly.
There are two plans we will ask you to provide: a horizon plan and a near term plan. Currently, we use Microsoft Project for horizon planning and Jira for near term planning. If you have a suggestion for a resource that can manage critical path, resources, and dependencies while still enabling daily accountability, we are all ears.
About the Projects
We have several world changing projects that we are working on and we need help on all of them. The projects range from a world class entertainment experience that will be used by millions (chances are good that you will use this as a customer someday), games to help children with autism, and even a game focused educational project funded by the philanthropic division of a fortune 50. It's an exciting time to work at GarageGames.
About GarageGames
GarageGames has recently re-invented itself. For ten years, we were primarily a game development middleware company. We still do that; however, we've also broadened our portfolio to include game development related service work. Our pedigree already includes completed work for some of the largest and most influential companies in the world. GarageGames most important value is humility and we are much more willing to bring in a team-playing go-getter over a veteran who lost their way in a team environment (team-playing, go-getter, veterans are certainly welcome).
Reach out to us; we'd love to meet you.
