Just started to look at the first chapter. Looks good so far. You might think about updating it to include references to Cartography Shop 4.1 with the Exporter for it as it much better than QuArk (IMHO).Brian Peal

Just another helpful comment. Could you include the results of any scripts you show us for the console? This will allow a developer to not have to type into the console to see the output if we already understand C flavored languages. If the reader is a newbie, it will provide them a method to validate what their results matched yours.
Keep up the good work!

Just skipped to the scripting chapter. THis is looking very professional and presented at a very good level (from a guy that is a C# senior developer). Just another helpful comment. Though this might never happen because providing the source code on book violates copyright of TEG....
I have read through most of TEG source code but there are still many details that I miss and don't understand because of the bad documentation of the c++ source code.
It would be nice to see how every component of the source code work together and some details on exactly how the source code works. It is enough to mention what methods, algorithms are used but not necessary to provide more details that other books provide. There are documentation sparsely distributed on the Torque website but most of them are pretty simple and don't go to greate effort to explain the source code...
Torque engine is the best I have seen for educating students and programmers interested in programming engine. However, the lack of documentation gets in the way.
Hopefully this book provides insight into the engine that can't be find anywhere else.
Basically, anything that explains the torque c++ source code is nice, but here are the
Areas of interest:
Networking.
Virtual machine for torque script
Memory system
Graphics & Animation(the ts, dgl, interior folders...)
Collision
SceneGraph
Lighting
Resource Manager
GUI

I absolutely can't wait to buy a book that details how the internal details of the torque engine works. Though this might never happen because providing the source code on book violates copyright of TEG....

I purchased your book, but the cd that came with it split in half. Is there anyway I can get the source code for the "Game programmers guide to torque"?

@FruitBatInShades - Sorry to disappoint you. An update to the free version of EGTGE will come out in March. I'm going to be on vacation for a bit and won't be able to make an update.
Please keep your eyes peeled!
