Nice tutorial. Just wanted to mention that you need to set the project before exporting so the exporter will find the textures.

Cheers,

Steve,

Really nice tutorial, and much appreciated. A few areas that could be improved:

1) the sound is sometimes not synched with the video (you do something in Maya, then a few seconds later tell us what to do rather than simultaneous)
2) Towards the end of the video, the screen becomes all red and you can't see a thing
3) It would be great if these were in a format that could be downloaded and used offline, rather than having to suffer the long load and hammer your website each time you want to watch it.

Great product though! I definitely look forward to seeing more :)

if you can get mesh animation working, i'd name you emperor of maya ...

a basic poly mesh, animate half the mesh fliping up and down "/\_/\" or sumin like that by moving the verticis ..

I cant export more than 24 frames of the model else it just wont export at all, if it does export on 24 frames or less, i get the error Expression: tverts.size() == verts.size(), but it still exports the model and it shows in showtool ..

add any texture and nothing will export with error

STef: No I was not having a beer at 3 am hahahaha, Look just because my picture of me has a beer in it, I am not an alcoholic. . . . . With that said, where did I put my drink.

Affectworks: Yes I forgot to set the project. However I never do. I alway keep the Maya .MB file and the PNG files in the same directory, Apply the textures, and then export. It works for me all the time.

Arthur Dent: The red I was un-aware of. Thanks for pointing that out. Also I do agree about the downloadable format, it would be a better option.

Edwin Roux: Yea I am working on this. I am hoping to have some more time soon to toss together a bunch of Torque / Maya tutorials.

I am glad you guys are finding a use for it. I will see what I can do about re-working this tutorial, so it stays in sync, audio wise, and allows for a downloadable version.

Take care.
