Which version to choose?

Good day everyone!
I was just thinking about buying the "Torque 2D" Version when I found the "Torque X 2D" Version. What exactly is the difference and why shall I pick one about the other? Do both versions have the same abilitys / features? Like Speed, Networking and such stuff? When shall I buy the normal 2D version with source code? I cant realy think of a use right now...
Am I limited to Torquescript when I buy the normal version? Or can I still code in C++ / C# and use it like a lib or dll? Is it possible with Torque X? Since I read C# everywhere...
Ahhh! Just help me. Im quite confused now. What is the main difference between the 2 Torque 2D version? (X and non X)
Best wishes...

Im mostly looking to code for Windows platform. Are there any differences between the engines but the platforms and that one uses C++ (TorqueScript) and the other C#?

Torque Game Builder: The base model. Excellent tutorials and support. Not sure if the basic version is still sold.
Torque Game Builder Pro: The next step. bang your head against the ceiling of base TGB before buying TGBP.
TX2D (Torque X 2D): The next evolution for the 2D Engine. Note the the tutorial are far fewer as its a new tool. You can expect them but not quickly. If you already now how to code then you'll be fine. The Complete Guide to Torgue X. You'll need this book, period.

I'm certainly no expert but here's my thought. All under the assumption that you're going 2D. My gut advice is that you should get TGB.Torque Game Builder: The base model. Excellent tutorials and support. Not sure if the basic version is still sold.

Torque 2D is a C++ engine that uses TorqueScript as it's scripting language and targets Mac and Windows desktops out of the box. There is an extension license for the iPhone as well. Licensed console developers can also license it for the Wii and 360. If you purchase the binary version, you will not have any C++ level access to the engine.
