Quark: texture and black out?

I'm still in newb status so bare with me. Here is my question. I used to quark to create a building. Added the textures. When I us the opengl option to view the building there are black lines running thru the building where the texture is. Its kind of like stripes, the texture and the black line. When I load the building into TGE everything is fine. I just want to know why.

Yes the texture is a power of 2. Sometimes I have the stripes and sometimes I don't. This is with the same object. I was thinking it might have something to do with opengl but the object looks fine in torque. Of course this is with using the low dif option. Have not had much luck with using the high dif option? Don't know why?

I get various anonomolies (hmmm, need spellchecker...) when using low detail settings in quark. Just ignore them, they don't mean a thing. Details at high works fine for me, but a few comps ago, it did not. Perhaps its an iffy gl driver or something.

I think what you're seeing is "Z fighting" where you have two surfaces fairly close to each other and the card is not sorting them out properly...usually a better card/updated drivers will fix.

Thanks I will try and see if that works.
