The Oregon Trail!!

This is a CLASSIC game that anyone between the ages of 21-27 played in grade school. This would be a GREAT game to remake with TGE. Imagine watching your wagon head down the trail in 3D and hunting in FPS view and defending yourself from bandits and natives! It would be a pretty basic RPG, but as a classic I would imagine it would have marketing and sales potential! Realistic weather too... ooohhh...

I remember that. BTW I just turned 27. I was talking to my wife about that game this past weekend. Somehow she never played it.

Exactly. A little innovation could go a long way with the concept.

I might have a copy of the 3rd game lying around somewhere. didn't they make 4 or 5 versions? and there was also a Yukon Trail game and a couple other spinoffs.

educational games have always been interesting to me... Oregon Trail is one of my favourites from merely a few years ago. (My library had outdated software, what can i say? =)I might have a copy of the 3rd game lying around somewhere. didn't they make 4 or 5 versions? and there was also a Yukon Trail game and a couple other spinoffs.

I've had my sites on this title for 15 years or so. Call it Wagons West! and do it right. It will sell.Jeff Tunnell GG

I remember Oregon Trail, that game rocked! I would love to see a 3D version of it.

Nate: the 3rd and 4th versions were somewhat 3d... however neither of them would be quite what you could accomplish with Torque =)

I'm glad to hear that others agree that a Oregon Trail type game would rock. I really do think that it would sell, especially if it was done with nice models and animation. Take a look at the Neandertal page for some great examples of absolutely beautiful scenery and models. This game would be fun for all ages.... peace,

Oh yeah... and the bicentennial is coming up, so a lot of Oregon museums are gearing up for that. Perhaps you could talk some of them into supporting you, either with photos, artifacts, and historical data, or perhaps even a bit of cash ;)
