i diddnt see a introductions forum, so...
hi.
im new here from sphere. i liked sphere, but the dead community is kind of a turnoff...
then the decision was between rpgtoolkit and this...
this looks more powerful after i learn ur scripting, which isnt "too" different. sphere was using a custom javascript core. but js is case sensitive, so thats another reason im glad im makin a switch. im not used to that...(i like my assignments to be capital, everything else, lower)
ive started a few demos, but never went for a complete game so far, but im psyched, and will be an active member here for a while, so after i start learning about this, i can start answerin questions.

but id like to start with my own question.
whats the difference between the features of demo, and indie and pro and...(any more?)
i know i wont like the demo for long, so how far should i go?

well, im off to learn more torquscript, ill check back on this soon.
and thanx in advance for everything im about to use torque for. :)

With TGE and TGEa in mind there are no feature differences between the Demo and having the SDK. Having a license grants you access to the source code and the right to publish your game. The distinction between the Indie and Commercial license is mainly one of profit. If you net more than $250,000 then you would have to upgrade your license. A license is non-transferrable to anyone else and each programmer (if in a team) will need one. The Commerical license does allow the transfer of a programmer seat, but you still need one for each "seat".

With TGB, you need a "Pro" licencse to gain access to the source code. The demo for it times out in 30 days I believe.

Torque 3D does not have a demo, it is still in Beta. Feature delta has not 100% confirmed yet, but you will need a "Pro" license to have source code access with it. Artists/designers would need to license the "Basic" version of it, which until final release doesn't exist yet.

And welcome to Torque. This community is probably one of the best you'll find. Lot's of people here are helpful, others even share ideas and code. There is a whole lot of experience, insight, skill, information, and help to found here. Good luck.
