I havent looked in the store for quite a while and I was considering purchasing the Combat Starter Kit. Anyone have any idea how to get it?

It was taken down due to the team that made it broke up. You can try going too www.dreamgames.com to get it if you want.

They still have their forums. Just register with a valid email addy and you can post your request there. Dave watches it sporatically.

I tried joining their forums three times a while back but finally said the #$*@ with 'em. There's been quite a few unresolved issues with the CSK, and the team splitting was after the fact. It was only a few months ago (April) that they wiped they old website and "started over"... and now ... I can't help but laugh -- at the somewhat bitter irony.

I hadn't noticed the "for sale" sign there. That's new. I guess there is no way to purchase the kit now then.

Other websites include DreamGamesInc.com and Dreamer's website at DreamRPGOnline.com.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I wanted to buy the kit not for the art but mainly for the commander screen and the class selection and a few other code segments. Anyone know where I can find a tutorial for these?

The CSK used the Commander Map resource as the basis for it's Command Map. The CSK extended the resource with several minor and easy to add additions to enable the display of object/team/item icons on the map. They also gave it the ability to use mouse input (as in click an area on the map and supplies drop there). Ben pretty much outlined where to look if you want to add the same kind of extensions to the resource.
For the player selection screen, it was all pretty much the Multiple Player Class Selection resource.
