n00b questions like "how to import terrain"

by Flameberge · in Torque Game Engine Advanced · 07/05/2009 (5:06 am) · 4 replies

I'm new in TGEA (birthday present=) and I already read documentation but I hadn't understood how to make some things.
1. I made a terrain in L3DT but I don't know how to import level into game (atlas)
2. How (and where I must export) meshes that I done?

This topic will have more questions during my game development. I hope I'll find help in understanding this product =)

Due to the fact that no one has answered this question, means that either the majority is using Torque 3D, or they are not willing to answer the question, or post information relating to the question. @ Flameberge, the only thing I can tell you is not to give up, search outside of Garage Games forums (unfortunately Goodgle it). You'll get better answers out there. It works for me...

I'm also going through the same issues, so if I find any answers I'll post it here. My MSN is ebonixs@hotmail.com is you want to hit me up on the messenger. Good luck!

Well, this is not the unique torque forum that i consult. Thanks for answer =)

Might look at the GarageGames website as most of those are using the Torque Engine more than the kit side of things. At least for 1.

As for 2 they are typically stored in testgame.mmo\data\shapes\character\models and then inside a folder (the exported dts file). You will need to use a program that can save/export a model to dts. A lot of times you have to use a plugin to do this.

Try the Bundysoft's website, they may have more info there. I'll check as well.
