Looking for art help while learning T3D

by Matt Brasier · in Jobs · 07/02/2009 (1:18 am) · 3 replies

I am playing around with learning T3D, and am planning on putting together a simple MechWarrior 2 type game as a first project to learn the engine etc. This is not a project designed to make money, its just a learning exercise. Im going to need some art for this, so I am looking for someone who is willing to do some free art, possibly someone who is just starting out with the art side of game development and wants some practice.

The kind of things I would need are:

Rigged mech models
Tank and other vehicle models
Building models

I have no experience of 3d art (I have a book on it, but Im a programmer and awful at anything artistic), so don't really know what is involved in getting the models built and into the game.

Im using T3D, so models in collada or DTS are fine.

Is anyone interested?

Matt

@Matt Brasier: I think you should join our Torque 3D project?

Great chance to pick a particular area of the game code to work on, coordinate with other code teammate(s) like myself, and get some visual art assets too? For Torque 3D project

If interested, please reply here:

Thanks for the offer, at the moment I am just trying to learn the engine at my own pace, before I get involved in any projects.

I might be able to help you. How fast will you need the models? Also I only own TGEA so I would not be able to test the models ingame and would need feedback from you on scale.
