Any model in the original Halo PC game and any that people have created for CE you can get to DTS format this way.

It is really easy to rip models if you have HALO for the PC and then download HALO CE (Custom Edition) you can open up any model in GIMP then export it to a .obj. Load it up in blender, make the changes you need to, then export it into a .dts.Any model in the original Halo PC game and any that people have created for CE you can get to DTS format this way.

I can rip anims, too, but I'm used to blender, and have no idea how it works in Max 7.

I did! Then you'll be okay. I actually lost my CD after I installed CE and the fix.

If you do a search of the Artist Corner >> Blender forums, it should help you.
If you really want to focus on the programming and leave the art stuff to someone else, I can help, but it will be a few weeks before I can do anything (I'm moving across the country on Monday).
Post in the artist forum and I'm sure someone will be able to help you. If not, ask me again in a couple weeks.
Good luck!
Tony
