Freezing occurs with the launch of every project

I can either open a project from the TGB shortcut or the actual project file, it loads,
takes a min, i click on the screen, it then shows (Not Responding) on the actual Window
header, then another half o minute goes by and its fine.......

this is really slowing my work flow, is there a better way to fix this problem, then
downloading again? and if i have to do that will the engine let me use the same Serial code?
