Question about architecture scale in blender

by Katelan Moye · in Artist Corner · 06/10/2009 (10:30 pm) · 4 replies

So I'm following some tutorials and teaching myself Blender... My one question is scaling... How do I know how big a building will be inside T3D? When I used to make buildings in Constructor, I was able to import a .dts reference shape so I could see a player model next to the building while I was architecting it...

How can I do something similar to this in Blender?

Thanks ahead of time!

Do you have the orignial .map file for any of the objects you want to size your character by? You could always do the cube test: create a 1x1 cube and a 5x5 cube and 10x10 cube until you figure out how large you want it and go from there.

1 blender unit is 1cm. Thus Blender's default zoomed out view is ratioed to 1m.

2 and a half blocks in blender (block level 3) is the height of a human. from there you can scale and scale to your heart's content.
