Hello everyone.
Im planning to become a modeler.
Well, i already am, but i always worked on free projects, like mods.

Now, i see alot of "help wanted" adds here on garagegames.
And i'd like to know, do you need a certain diploma ?
Or would a company hire me if i just had the needed skills ?

Also, would working on a project from overseas work out ?
Or is 'real life contact' really needed ?

It really depends on the team you are working for. Some want years of experience, some want you to become their roommate (yes one guy wanted this), but most don't give a crap as long as you can get the job done well. Not to driver you away as there are mostly legitimate offers, but be watchful of people out to rip you off. I don't want to bring up that thread again (you all know what I'm talking about), but it is important to watch for scams and the like.

If your serious about wanting to become a 3d modeler the best bet is to check out some local schools. See if there are any certificate programs etc...
Good luck. ;)
