Overview:

Goony-Cru is a 2D game featuring various mini-games similar in fashion to the Wario Ware games. Goony-Cru differs in its presentation by having an offbeat and misanthropic feel.

The premise:

Inspiration for this game is the pre-employment test known as the Unicru test. What is the Unicru test?

It’s an unregulated and uncertified test that supposedly profiles a person to see if he’s “fit” for employment. It does not score aptitude or knowledge. It sets up scenarios and asks you questions. At the end of the test, it assembles your psychological profile based on your answers.

What it really does is measure a person’s ability to BS. Answer the questions honestly and you’ll probably fail. BS your way through and you’ll get hired. Trust me, I’ve been there and done that.

The game, Goony-Cru, is meant to be a parody of these uncertified tests. In the game, the obviously wrong answers score the highest and then take the player to a mini-game which illustrates the wrong answer being applied to a job related situation.

Hiring/team status/game status:

I'm the game designer and also the media content creator (graphics/audio/music). Looking for one programmer to code in C# and use the XNA framework. The design document is complete and I am well underway with media content creation. Yes, it's a very small team, but I'm not looking to create the next Halo or Mass Effect. Goony-Cru is meant to be just a fun little game. Yeah, I guess you would call it a "casual" game for the casual gamers. My goals may seem a bit simple, but I'm keeping it real here.

Compensation:

I can't pay up front, but I do intend to finish the game and put it up on XBox Live's Community Games section. I will split the profits 50/50. That being said, you know the score. We might make some money. We might not make anything.

email me if interested and I'll send an abbreviated design doc so you can get a better feel for what the game is like.

Wow, the Unicru thing sounds kind of insulting:

I don't want to sound arrogant, but I'd probably be kind of offended if I went for a software engineer job interview and I got asked meaningless questions with fake answers like this :-D
