Kinda stupid insignificant bug

I've noticed this in Tribes 2 and Torque...
When I start up T2 or Torque, it keeps screwing up the lights on my keybord for numlock, capslock, and scroll lock. The buttons work fine in applications, but my keyboard doesn't like to update the lights. It's just kind of annoying. This has probably been posted before, but is there a solution to this, or does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?
I'm running Windows XP with a Microsoft natural keyboard elite, if that helps.
