Adding new materials for in TGE?

Hello folks!

Well our artists has been asking me if that will be possible to use different kind of material on our models.
But from what i have read in the FAQ...

2. What type of materials can I use?
Standard and Multi/Sub-object are the only material types that should be used on the models that you are exporting to Torque. Any of the other material types such as Raytrace Blend, Composite, Matte/Shade, Hardware Shader, Shellac, Top/Bottom, and any new material type that is added from a Max Plugin can in theory be used but the exporter will likely ignore the information contained in these material types. (post/view comments...)

It is not possible, but i was wondering if it is something that could be add. And if yes what would be the complexity of such a project (i dont really have strong/solid 3d programming experience yet, i am learning ;-)).

Oh and if anybody working on such projects let me know!
