Tools for Project Control Documents?

by Rodney (OldRod) Burns · in General Discussion · 02/04/2003 (8:33 am) · 1 replies

I have several design documents and milestone documents, etc. written up for my project. So far I've written them up in Microsoft Word.

What I'd like to do is have the ability to add checkboxes and such to the documents so I can track progress as I go along. Word can do this, but it's fairly klutzy at handling them.

Does anyone know of a better program I can use, or a better way to handle this type of thing?

Microsoft Project comes to mind there are several others. Oddly enough I've had little luck with finding a GOOD open source project management and schedualing app. Anyone know of one?
