Torque levels vs hex-based user-created scenarios...

Hi,

I understand there is a terrain editor etc available to create terrain/levels in Torque 3D. My question pertains to two different aspects of terrain/level generation:

1. Is it possible to add new terrain types with different characteristics ( e.g. cover, concealment, destructability ) without having to get the source code version of Torque 3D? I am thinking here of things like having different types of walls which have different visual characteristics as well as different values for protection from enemy fire etc.

2. I would like the ability to allow users to create their own levels which they could then play on. My query is whether or not that is supported in Torque 3D or whether, again, I'd need to create a module which would convert the input from an external level editor into input which Torque could receive and understand and then parse into a workable 3d level.

3. I am considering giving the basic version $250 a go to see how close it comes to what I require. If I later chose to upgrade to the $1,000 version in order to gain access to the source code ( which I think would be necessary for what I want --- interfacing with an external terrain/level editor + addition of new characteristics for existing and user-created objects/terrain ) would I just have to pay the difference or would I have to shell out the full amount?

Thanks for any input.
