Seems to be fairly consistent reports scattered around the web of the SDK download being unavailable for most of December, guess they must have had a patch or two of uptime.

One day turn-around on the Christmas weekend, that's customer service and a half. I wasn't going to worry about it for a week or so since it's the holidays but now I feel let down. ;)Seems to be fairly consistent reports scattered around the web of the SDK download being unavailable for most of December, guess they must have had a patch or two of uptime.

Now they just need to sort that download server out.

Christ-on-a-bike... hot off the press update from Nvidia:Quote:Update: We expect it may take another 2 weeks before the SDK is available for download as we continue to have issues with our secure download server.

There's an older (July 21, 2008) version 2.8.1 SDK available at http://www.softpedia.com/get/Programming/SDK-DDK/NVIDIA-PhysX-SDK.shtml if you don't need the latest & greatest version.

It's not looking good for the PhysX SDK... 4 weeks later and the "2 weeks before the SDK is available" message is still up with no further updates.

Anyone using DXSDK Feb 2010 and PhysX 2.8.3.21 for PC Core?
#28
Been using the Feb-10 SDK here and seeing some strange issues (like e.g. gizmos in the editor not working). Not sure whether they are due to the SDK or not.

The March 2009 version seems to be the one you should stick to. There was a new version out in June, but I haven't had a chance to test it yet.

1.1 Beta 2 and 3 were built using the June 2010 SDK which is still the latest. You definitely want to be using the latest as you'll run into problems if you don't.

I'm kind of between a rock and a hard place. All I have received from Nvidia is an email confirming that they got my information. Still have not been able to get a download from them. Any ideas?Lee

Also, you only need the SDK if you're going to build a game using PhysX. Just the System Software will let you run the demos. I believe it may allow you to do some editing with the existing PhysX shapes until you have to compile the source, then you'll need the SDK.

You're pretty much at Nvidia's mercy in getting access to the SDK. I had heard they'd gotten better at moving through the requests so they may just be behind on them from the holidays. You just have to wait it out. Also, you only need the SDK if you're going to build a game using PhysX. Just the System Software will let you run the demos. I guess they must really be backlogged. I got the receipt for my request from them on October 16th. I am definitely working on a project that will need the PhysX. Thanks for the info.Lee

Hopefully you got it sorted by now, but I created an account the other day and it got approved the following day. I was mostly just testing to see what their response time was like now but I've needed a new account with them for a while. My old was back from the Ageia days and got deleted when they did that mass culling a while back.
Anyway, they seem to be keeping up on them now.

Apparently something was mis-sent somewhere. I tried again to register and it said a user by that name already existed. For grins I tried logging in with the user and password I entered first time and it worked ... Computers. You gotta love 'em. Can't help but wonder where the confirmation really went.
