Softimage Mod Tool Pro 7.5 and Torque

I have noticed that there is going to be a Mod Tool Pro coming out based on 7.5 for commercial use. Is this going to be only for XNA stuff or will we be able to use it from T3D games as well? from the sounds of it, It sounds like you are only allowed to use it for XNA based games.

Perhaps This is something GG could talk to Autodesk about and get a deal kinda like the Houdini Apprentice Edition.

I believe it is only for XNA Community Channel games.

GarageGame should really approach them about giving the same kinda deal to Torque users

Thats true. Should be something like T3D licenses' price + price for extra features that are not included in the game for example, dynamic road editor, dynamic rock editor, dynamic tree branch generator.

That would increase the price allot.

If you are a student you can get a perpetual license for non-commercial projects. I have one from before XSI was acquired and it was still XSI 7.

Uhh.. it did still cost 300.00 or so though.

yeah because you can render un-watermarked with it. and it has none of the limitations that Mod-tool has. But still if they can make the Mod-tool pro offer to XNA game designers then why now regular torque users for the same price. The creators club pro license doesn't even stipulate that you buy a full license when you publish like Houdini does. But if they would give torque users a mod tool license for $99 I know a few people that would accept having to pay the $2900 upon getting a publishing deal

or even better yet just do the same thing that they did for the creators club. $99 per year for 1 yr licenses.

The $99 per year has nothing to do with the Mod Tool. That fee was on the creator club since much before the arrangement with Autodesk.

I agree though, about GG approaching Autodesk to see if there is any chance of making some deal.
