Hi....This company is Jamie System (Korea based)

A small 3D game developer, waiting for the US launch,

needs your frank comments on our game.

The game is called AXIS and now playable demo is available.

Briefly speaking about the game, it's multiplayer FPS.

Thanks for reading...

If you do have some comments, I would really appreciate it!

Sincerely,

Dear Jun,

My first impressions of Axis (based on the version 3 demo) are that it is very, very good. I haven't played it properly in a multiplayer situation yet, but will do soon.

My only small gripe is that it is a little tricky to start your own server/client combo. Perhaps a single button could be included for this? A lesser issue (not technically a gripe!) is that the controls were somewhat tricky compared to standard FPS fare.

The most positive points for me were the overall concept, as PC based anima style mech combat is under populated at the moment, and the artwork, which was impressive. Little new seemed to be going on with the underlying engine, but it was fast, solid and bug free, which is more than many big companies put out.

Well done! I'm following Axis' progress with a kean eye, as I run an even smaller company with a 3D fps mech style game, Avoyd. Wait a few days before taking a look as version 1.3 is out soon which is much better.

Good luck!

EXTREMELY WELL DONE GAME, IT'S ADDICTING!!!!

but, the mouse needs to be redone, even with smooth mouse it is choppy, and if the sensitivity goes down, it is too slow.

I was also thinking that there should be different, mmmhh, robot making companies, so that that you can custumize the robots, but there would be robots completely unique from others.

And the maps need to be a little more spaced out. bigger rooms and such

other than that, awesome job.

Very well done! A nice, clean interface (with a downright cool menu system), solid graphics, and fun gameplay. Above all, it worked! The first time I ran it, even. That alone deserves a big congrats!

That being said, I still have suggestions. The first is the inability to flip over. This kind of spoils the feel of being in space when you hit this invisible barrier. I'm assuming it's because you're using Euler angles? I'd recommend look at using Quaternions, instead. They allow you to rotate freely in all dimensions without worrying about gimble lock. That way you could flip completely over, which I think would make the game all that more immersive.

As mentioned in an earlier post, the moust control feels a bit off. I think this is because you don't seem to use momentum in your calculations. This gives you more responsive control, yes, but it does tend to give it a harsh, abrubt feel. Taking into account a little momentum is a good way to get rid of this feel. Just a little, mind you; I think one of the fun things about the game is how quick you can move around. Still, something to look into.

And more missles! More missles!!! I found most outside battles are reduced to that, so you should focus on making them as fun as possible. During a couple of engagements I almost felt like I was in an episode of Macross!

Very well done! This is one I'd go out and buy. Be sure to keep us up to date.

I couldn't test it against other people, but just running round by myself was interesting... Very nice maps there :)

The only problem I could see was a square around the explosions.

yes, the explotions do need to be re-done. I think that a nice particle system would make the explotions great. Makes the game look, eerrr, I dunno, I guess I have a fetish for partcle systems... :P

Ignore these miscreants ;p The graphics are just fine, focus on tweaking the important part: gameplay.

Meant in good humour, btw.
