What is the best way todo a bowstring animation ??

Hi all !
I use Max so if somebody got a hint how todo a bowstring animation
what is the best way !?
should i use bones or not ??

Ok I try with a skel animation,i made a vertex one but its not
exporting properly and the dts file get big hehe !
But in max it looked very good !!!

Let me know on your progress, I think you will have much better luck using a skeletal rig. If you like I will try to post some sample shots (and maybe a sample file later on after I get this into RealmWars) in a bit.Logan

I used a skeleton but when i try to export it now i get
' Assertion failed on skin object'
Do you know this error and why i get it ?
I still use max !!!!
On my string mesh i have 5 bones and skinmodifier
The animation works fine but not the export .
maybe i forgot something shit !

Remember that any object that you have in your scene that uses the Skin modifier must be unlinked from the DTS Structure that you setup (the one with the detail nodes, collision, nodes, etc). This is just like exporting a character.Logan

I got a stuppid error on the skinned object ,dont know how
it got there so the export didnt work !
Now it works fine got all animations and it exports fine !
So a big thx you helped me alot !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another thing that you will have to do after you are done is create a new set of animations to work with the bow, otherwise the game will use the normal "rifle/gun" pose which just looks odd with a bow.
