Site needs better search feature badly

The site's search features need to be a little more advanced. We need better filtering and sorting badly

The main problem is that without proper filtering the search results can be huge including all kinds of stuff
and taking forever to browse the whole thing. When things are not sorted from the most recent posts you end up reading stuff from older builds or that just don't apply anymore.

I can see this problem being partially the cause of duplicate question posts on the site. I know people should search first and post questions later but sometimes when searching is taking forever it's just easier to start a new thread when you can't find your answers. I've been guilty of that myself...

The last search system worked very well, before the site change. Bring back the old function!

Its ok, they spent weeks/months and even pretested the site to make sure it was better and more powerful :)

Yeah, it finds "more" but it doesn't present it's results in any useful order by relevance, date, etc. Even though the old search didn't always find everything it did allow you to sort the results and even re-search for "similar" results (which often found the "missing" posts!).

I'd like the ability to see new posts only in selected forums. I only go into the artist forums to take names, for example :)

This site is not ok. The documentation for Torque is very thin and there's a lot of good information in this forum from other users. It needs to be more practical to access this information in a timely manner. I don't have all day to read irrelevant posts.

Oh.. and another thing, search results shouldn't show stuff I can't even look at because I don't have a certain type of license.
