Character Rig

Anybody created a character rig for Houdini before I go off and try and re-invent the wheel here? I am having trouble rigging my character up with the auto-rig and figure it would probably be easier to create a new rig for Torque.

Yes I have heard that as well. Starting to make my own but I am by no means an expert, but that's part of learning. If I get one. I will make it available for sure.

Hi Randy, is there any updates to you auto rig creation? I found this thread and wounder if it is complete before doing this from scratch.

I actually have created a few rigs from scratch in houdini for torque, if this thread isn't so... dead :)

Hi Dion Burgoyne, did your houdini rigs work for Torque or did you experience some issues? Either way, I'm facinated by by Houdini so any information will be awesome at this point.

I too have made skeleton rigs for humanoids etc. if anyone wants me to build a visual tutorial.

Looks good so far. I haven't watched all of the videos. But I have started using Max more. I love Houdini, but there aren't many exporters for other engines and you can't export any physics from it unless someone builds the exporter.

It should be related to "Paint Capture/Capture Geometry", right? I'm currently trying to export my rig in houdini but as soon as I do Capture Geometry, I'm unable to export the .dts. (The torque Render Node become red striped).
I'd like to know if you made a tutorial that cover that part.

Thanks for the video tutorials but I think one part is missing. I haven't tried the auto-rig with Houdini yet, but I remember someone telling me that it doesn't export properly..
Here's an idea, making some kind of auto-rig (Even if just a basic one) that exports well to Torque and making it a downloadable Asset on the Houdini site?
I don't know of anyone else who have done that, sorry.
