I am just wondering how most of you people making or planning on making game projects get to be recognized on the internet.
I was just trying to advertice my web page for my project, and I came up with a dead end, so I was looking for some help on the social part of making a game :)
thanks-

Hmm... I did find something on the game, but it should be more easy to find. But as you said you're already writing an about page so ignore this comment.

This can get you major exposure two ways:
#1 Chances are excellent that the genre site will post your news including links, thus all the regulars to that genre site will see it.
#2 If the genre site thinks the news is really worth something, it'll pop-up in an issue of GameSpy's email newsletter and on the GameSpy Dialy website.

Two words: GameSpy. Find the genre planet site most suited to your game (or if your going to develoe with the V12, just go to Planet Tribes) and submit a email to that site's news department. This can get you major exposure two ways:

well then, better prepare everything and make it perfect before sending (might take a few months) I don't want people laughing at my letters

I'm gonna go the slow, boring, but more money-filled method and work as a database programmer while searching for a job with one of the established game development companies (May take a while, probably write a game in my spare time)
