TGE vista compatibility

Am already aware that older versions of the Torque game
engine will not run on Vista. I assume (may be a bad thing to do)
that TGEA applications will run on Vista. Can you load a TGE
mission in TGEA?? This might solve the Vista problem.

What Vista problem?

I have a version of TGE that goes back to 1.2 and it runs just fine on Vista. I don't have anything older than the 1.2 version though, which was used in the 1st edition 3d Game Programming All-in-One. All later versions of TGE run in Vista for me also.

Can you run TGEa in Vista? Yep, sure can.

Can you load a TGE mission into TGEa? Yes, so long as the filepaths to everything point to the correct location and that all relevant datablocks referenced in the TGE mission are loaded in TGEa also.

Thanks Michael. I'm researching this for one of my
associates. We use TGEA and everything I've read on the
forums, including your information, suggests that TGE and TGEA
will both work on Vista. I guess I need to obtain a copy
of the app and load it on Vista. Thanks again for the reply.
