I am going to be going through college,University soon and was wondering if any of you people know of a good place I can take Online Game Design Courses They dont have to be Torque related but just good Courses that cover everything from Scripting to Art. I have been using Torque for a while and I cant script or code anything to save my life so that would be a priority is learning how to program. Also Art wise thats all I have been doing with Torque so far is Constructor and blender. Id like to learn either XSI or 3D Studio max but whatever I just need training.

First, learn coding basics, variable, functions, classes, objects, methods, properties, and how to utilize them. This knowledge will apply to almost any coding language out there.

Second, (assuming you already know how to 3d model) learn TorqueScript syntax and become familiar with the tools availabe to you within the engine. Tools meaning packages, classes, methods, etc.

Learning to coding is like learning to talk. You know what you want to say, but you don't know what words to use. Think of any resources that you find listing the TorqueScript tools (TDN) as a dictionary or a thesaurus and everytime time you begin to get frustrated (and you will get frustrated) think of how a baby must feel when eh/she needs a new diaper and can't say "HELLO...does anyone else smell that?"

Third, DON'T GIVE UP!!! There's nothing more satisfying than seeing your creation materialize be it through code or a mesh you've been working on forever.

PS
Online schools for things like this are only good for concepts and some basics which you can find on TDN via tutorials and documentation. My opinion is, take the money you were gonna spend on that course and put towards your first game release fund (advertising, servers, bandwidth, etc). You do have a first game release fund...right? If you don't, don't admit it!!! (lol)
