TorqueX Pro to TorqueX 2D ... Upgrade????

by Michael Malandra · in Torque X 2D · 02/23/2009 (6:52 pm) · 9 replies

Hi,

I purchased the TorqueX Pro Indie license a few months back in the hopes I could begin learning the engine before XNA 3.0 came out. Now I am learning that I will have to pay $100 to upgrade to TorqueX 2D? Is this correct? I have the XNA Creators Club Premium Membership, which gave me the Torque 2D Builder for free. What exactly am I paying for that is different in this update? Shouldn't the 2D version be free to upgrade for me?

Here's hoping for a fast response.

On the second page David says

Quote:Existing Pro users with a builder license can "purchase" TX 2D for $0, I believe, since the builder and source have been rolled into a single product.

Thanks Brandon. I've read through that thread and unfortunately it doesn't seem to be applying to my account. When I go to the TorqueX 2D page, it asks me to pay $100. Now, to be specific as to what products I own, I have the TorqueX Pro license with the TorqueX Builder - Creators Club license.

Can anyone from GarageGames answer this question please? I've emailed the sales department with no response in 3 days.

I never received an e-mail from you.

You are paying for the source which is now bundled in the complete package with Builder and the binary. The CC version will continue to contain the Builder and the binary, but not the source code to the engine.

Thanks David. I already have the source though, as I own the TorqueX Pro Indie license.

@David,

I sent another email out to the sales department, this time with a delivery and read receipt attached. Here is the error I received, which is probably why you never received my email.

I’m trying to upgrade to TorqueX 2D from TorqueX Pro with a CC TorqueX Builder 2D license. It is asking me to pay $100 to upgrade, but I don’t think I should have to pay given what I’ve been told on the forums. I am looking for someone to answer my question. If someone could please respond to this request, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
