Please excuse my lack of knowledge.

Hello everyone,

Now ever since before the official launch of ArcaneFX I have had my eye on it and knew I was going to purchase once the need for it arrives although I have had the joy of playing small prototypes which featured the ArcaneFX special effects system and now that It is getting pretty close to the estimated time of purchase I wanted to ask a few general questions and have them answered by users who have been working with the tool for some time and can give me a personal experience rather than a text-book answer.

How hard is it to get AFX running? Does it require a lot of slow, and freaky step-by-step operations in order to fully integrate it in to Torque?

One thing that I have always wondered and just haven't found the time to ask is - other than the "spells" that come with AFX itself and the ones you can buy as a content pack does AFX provide you with an alternative special effects "engine" that allows users to "easily" create custom "spells" and effects? That's something I've always wondered.

Thanks in advance for any help regarding my two questions.

AFX comes fully compiled and with source ready to go out of the box with a entire selection of spells, there is of course the addition spell pack (which i recommend) There is a learning curve as it can get very complicated with some of the higher end spells(there has been several requests for a full functioning and updateble spell creation/generator)

But Jeff always adding in the extra kitchen sink, it always includes several fixes and the additional assets (models/animation/code) really makes this kit worth it. It also comes witha merge and spell creation documentation that breaks it all down. Plus he is always here slaving away at the work.
