model won't load into torque

I'm a newb when it comes to modelling and torque, i followed the tutorial: http://www.garagegames.com/articles/dhannah/tutorials/simplecharacter.html#start
but i still cannot load the model i made into torque. it either stops responding or just wont finish the mission load. Im using 3ds max 4 ..... plz help
