Triggers set up but NO footprints ?

Clearly there's something I'm doing wrong but I can't figure it out.
My custom model character will not generate footprints, even though I have them set up in its datablock and tried to set up in 3ds max to do so.
Here is my 3ds max setup:

I am exporting each .dsq separately. So this screenshot is from the curve editor for my "run" animation sequence helper (dummy).
Do I have to set up these triggers on my "base" model? If so, how, since there is no sequence helper in that file.

Also as a side note about TST Pro there is a bug in it where it wont actually display if a sequence has any triggers. We found this little gem while working on Lore and after a few days of work discovered it was just TST Pro not reading the data right (the sequences worked fine in the engine though).

Generally triggers wont export if the sequence doesn't see any sort of ground transform occuring. So check in TST Pro (sequence info button) and see if it displays a ground transform. If it doesn't you will need to ensure that the feet/base of your model are touching the pivot location of the bounds. Also as a side note about TST Pro there is a bug in it where it wont actually display if a sequence has any triggers. I need to ensure that the "feet/base of your model are touching the pivot location of the bounds"
I did look in Show Tool Pro and you're right. The "trigger" seems to be generating an error, and there is no ground transform.

But look at my screenshot. My character's feet are touching the bottom of the bounds.

What am I doing wrong?

Try adding some velocity or movement in an axis direction and see if that does the trick.

@Logan: can you clarify...what do you mean by that...how do I do that? Thanks in advance.

...give the bounding box some movement, this 'should' give the sequence a Ground Transform of some kind, I think. If I remember my Max and basic DSQ exporting.

Now in Show Tool pro, it does say that my ground transform exists. And the animation plays in Show Tool Pro.
But it won't play in the game. For the run animation, the character freezes now instead of running. But when I do any other animation (jump, run sideways, stand_jump), those all still work in the game.
What's also crazy is that the 'triggers' are now producing an error again in show tool pro UNLESS I export the sequence WHILE SHOW TOOL PRO IS OPEN then the triggers show up in show tool pro with no error.
ODDLY ENOUGH, also, my character, with NO forward animation playing in game now, has footprints when runnning backwards, even though the only triggers on the character are the ones in the forward run animation. Very weird. Also, it's not continual footprints. Two footprints only and then they stop. Then another two footprints maybe 6 steps later then they stop. and so on. But no footprints when running forward, even though that is the animation with the trigger.

i believe there is a way to do this without actually introducing any velocity. something like anchoring the bounding box to the root or something like that. there's a forum post somewhere in GG with the phrase "uses triggers, but does not have a ground transform exported" in it which talks about this, but unfortunately GG site search still has some pretty serious flaws, so i can't find it.

WOW. I'm reading those now. This is a big help. I had done several searches for "footprints" on the forums but somehow I did not find these threads. Thanks so much.
