I have an idea for a steampunk inspired role playing game, which is currently a play by mail sort of thing at the moment. If anyone is interested please contact me.

A few weeks ago, PvP (the online comic... http://www.pvponline.com) had a banner add for a steam punk MMORPG. I didn't look too hard, but I can't find a trace of it on their site anymore.

It looks like modified Arcanum art. Are you (have been) somehow involved in Troika Games project?

wow, I really like the visualls on your site, very cool(though the actual design of the page could use some work) so if I understand correctly this is some kinda postmodern science fiction typething

- Multiplayer roleplaying? (In which case, you should look at using a MUSH, MOO or LP-MUD engine IMO)
- Computer RPG? (In which case, you have a lot more decisions to make and you'll need resources too.)
- MMORPG? (In which case, good luck!)
It'd be nice to see a computer RPG built around steampunk, but I think a main selling point would have to be original artwork of the quality that you have on your site.

Also, Stephen, be more specific in forums about what your project really is - a mod or a game. As you can see, it creates quite a confusion if you havent done so.

well, its a mod for Arcanum anyway (look under his "Project" section), so using Arcanum art isnt that much of a stealing. however, he should have contacted Troika and asked for permission to modify their art assets. (Maybe he has?)Also, Stephen, be more specific in forums about what your project really is - a mod or a game. As you can see, it creates quite a confusion if you havent done so.

Its a module for Arcanum (at least now anyway). The pictures are from Dimensions of Arcanum website, if theres any problems with having the pictures on the site then say and I will remove them.

Neat ideas. Steampunk is one of those things that just hasn't generated many game ideas, and I think there's a gold mine that you're sitting on here. Keep at it, and when you get the chance, think about hitting the movies this summer (I think) and watch "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen." Also, for literary inspiration, Michael F. Flynn's "In The Country of The Blind."

I'll toot my own horn a bit, though the project is still not formally announced, but Steamwerks is under development.
