3dsMAX. those are all high poly models, and most of them are animatable with biped. low poly versions can thus be easily made...provided anyone is interested.I even have a proto storyline

and yes, i have considered that, but I am a measly artist and i dont know jack about programming (ok, I know a teensy bit, but not enough to make a game...)
Mostly, i dont know the parameters needed to make the ole .vl2 accept my work. Oh, and i need to make them a little less polygon intensive :) I like to start with the high poly model, cause its easier to skin/texture the low poly one if you do that.
Since i have a nibble from the almight Rick-O, ill post another gratuitous pic.
Does this remind anyone else of Titan from SS?

heres a closer look at the Phantom:

after making those, Im sure you wouldent have problems doing lower poly count models. you just need a programmer and a plan, should be easy to work from there.
I think it would look very nice when finished.

i like the z1 the best. inspired by the zentraedi mech, no? the big red bruiser behind him in the first pic is sweet too.

Get someone to write a game design doc. Another to map out the level. Some programers and scripters as well as SF/X peeps.
Looks like a lot of fun. Excellent job. :-)

I would LOVE to make a "multiplayer mecha fury" game for these guys, i just dont personally have the resources.
The Z-1 wasnt directly inspired by anything, although it is easy to see the anime flair, since it has multiple movement modes and Big Ass Thrusters (ill bet you were wondering what "BAT" stood for...)

wasnt implying you ripped anyone off for the design, only non artists do that (unless it is a straight ripoff) because they dont know that the creative process is rarely if ever wholly original. just that the mech (if you squint at it) looks a lot like the zentraedi officers pod, especially the legs.

the officers pod is the one that vaguely resembles the B-Tech marauder, right?

nope nope...didnt think that :)the officers pod is the one that vaguely resembles the B-Tech marauder, right?

if there was such a contest, I would nominate a simple "mecha fighting" game first out the gates using the v-12 engin.
basicaly your replacing walking player animations with walking mech animations, and changing the numbers on the weapons damage.
after that its maping, textures, sound, and away you go. (assuming you skip the pleasantries of writing a manual or making a box to stick it in, lol)
if its by the fans for the fans, they will forgive you if the front end is a bit rough round the edges ;)
