Enabling multiple random texture for .dts

Howdy,
I've gone through a number of UV mapping tutorials and have successfully imported functional .dts objects using Blender. I'm pretty happy for a self-taught newb... fun stuff!
I know its possible to use multiple textures for one .dts (I should specify a one-texture .dts, not one using two texture files at the same time), which are applied randomly on the object. I'm sure I saw a tutorial somewhere that described the process, but I can't for the life of me find it.
Can anyone describe how to set up a .dts to randomly apply different textures? Also, I'd like to know how to select a particular texture when placing objects in the world editor (If thats possible).
Thanks!
