Realm Wars - Problems

I am having problems with the Realm Wars game.
Basically, when I start it up, the initial logo pops up correcly, but when I hit any key, it doesn't disappear but it blends in the Torque logo with transparency on top of it.
Then if I hit another key, the window goes black and aroundmy cursor I have about a 1" square in which I can see what the menu is. By moving the mouse, the 1" viewable square aroudn the cursor moves wih it and I can scroll over to the options menu and attempt to change video options.
CHanging resolutions doesn't fix the issue. It just makes the main window bigger. Setting it to fullscreen still exhibits the same the behaviour.
If I change the output to D3D, it does correctly show the window although within a few seconds Realm Wars crashes. I believe this is related to the fact that I am running Direct X 9 beta, though. You tell me!
My computer is:
Athlon 2100+, 768 Mbs ram, Radeon 9700 Pro
DirextX 9 RC3, running newest ATI drivers for DX9.
Related to this, I also cannot run Tribes 2. So there are two games on the planet out of all the hunreds I have, that I cannto run on my machine, both runnign the same engine, althogh the Torque engine is obviously more modified these days.
Coincidence? I think not . . . :)
if there is a way to get this to work, it woudl be greatly appreciated!

Yes it works now. Since I haven't played the game without my 9700 Pro, I don't know of some of the visual tearing is part of the game or the combination of playing it with my video card. The trees are extremely unstable as they constantly shift. There are textures tearing and flopping around. Its not a lot, and mostly around the maximum vis distance, but around the base hits there is some where the details were put in. In anycase, at least its playable now.

The problem is your graphics card (or driver??) - I've got the same card and have the same problem will any toque game/mod.
If you turn off the Anti-Aliasing it works ok...
