Ian, I'm afraid this competition isnt worth a look... I just read through the rules, they only accept entries that use their engine (which they want rediculus royalties for)... so no one making a torque game could enter this competition, and anyone who bothered to make a game with their engine would then have to give them a large portion of the royalties if they published it, I think I speak for everyone when I say... SCREW THAT! I'm sticking with torque ;)

Also the goal of the contest is to get your game to be published, and they will give you a fully funded commercial copy of the Auran jet Engine if you are one of the three finallists.
So really if you don't mind working with the Auran Jet engine and you can create a decent game I would suggest to enter. Not everything has to always be to your liking, but this is yet another opportunity that those that are willing can take to get into the Industry. And probably end up ahead of those that hadn't if they manage to win.

Erm, then I guess you've read the section that if you submit a good idea / design of a game then they will send you a Non-Commercial copy of the engine to use, that normally retails for only $230 (And I think that's $AU). So its the same price as Torque. Also the goal of the contest is to get your game to be published, and they will give you a fully funded commercial copy of the Auran jet Engine if you are one of the three finallists.
