I'm trying to keep this thread on the top of the pile, as I wouldn't mind a copy of it myself! :)

I'll keep checking to see if Devon's posted it...

What is so hard to understand in "he's not sending copies out anymore" !!??
hence, why put the thread on top ? Bad, very bad netiquette : you could at least read the post right before yours in a thread before posting, if you can't read the whole thread, no ?
As he's stated in another thread on the topic, it will be released at some point.
Again, Devon is NOT sending out copies of this anymore, and is probably pissed off at still getting requests for something he made clear he can't send out ...
Actually, make the effort of finding the other thread and read it.
Check tork.zenkel.com for a copy of the GUI chapter of his manual.

P.S. : this is not personal, but it seems that recently a lot of that kind of thing has been going on : people posting TGE C++ excerpts in the general community forums, ie not even the public Torque forums, which are not the ones for that (private SDK forums for TGE C++ code), people posting whatever they want to post about without taking a few minutes to seriously look for information, post in a thread without reading the previous posts, etc.
Again, i'm not pointing fingers at anyone : just trying to elicit some response before the GG forums keel over in a maelstrom of "Me, Myself and I" attitudes."
sorry if anyone feels offended or wounded by this rant, but I really mean it when I say I'm not targeting anyone in particular...
Keep on Torquin' in a free world !

I don't see the crime in a member stating plainly that there is interest in Devon's efforts - i would take everyone asking for copies as motivation - keep on charging Devon!

and what is netiquette anyway? is it something you study in college? seems to be lotsa rules some times - specially for the people who come on here paying their moola and unfamiliar with the "rules" :)

hell, make this the longest thread ever - documentation is the ruin of all projects of this nature - if anything there is the hint of info protectionism in projects around the net - help all, and the newbies...

and Nicolas i am like you - i don't like to get personal attacks going - i appreciate the way you got it off your chest
Thanks again Devon

No offense to Nicolas, but the forums aren't the easiest things to search on (unless I'm missing a page somewhere). Trying to find information within a posting with a horrible title is like digging through a haystack for the needle. There are a lot of misplaced postings though, I do agree with that.

I'd like to add my voice of support to the others. Sounds like just the thing. I understand the free time resource management though. Any rough idea on when it might be ready for public release, like in weeks or months?

Howdy people, ummmmm what can I say. Work and my piano lessons have gotten the better of me recently. Just needed a break from this for a while. Anyway, I will fix up the guide and get it posted up somewhere. And if I don't you are most welcome to keep on hounding me til I do.

Hey Devon, Just a friendly hound here since you said you dont mind. Apparently this thing has been out in one form or another 10 months ago... and then it vanished after a server fire May 12th. Any chance it might be up somewhere some time soon?

Has anyone downloaded the old version? If he can upload it it would be better than nothing, while waiting for the new one...

As Devon posted in this thread www.garagegames.com/mg/forums/result.thread.php?qt=11275 (last posts), it's up to GG to release the manual, if I understand what he said correctly, which chimes in with a previous comment of his on that situation earlier in this or that thread :)
Hold on, it should be out soon

Problem;

everyone around here assumes that everyone knows how to compile, and that walkthrough doesn't even touch on it except to say compile the torque SDK.

I have already worked in torque. About a year ago. I'm an art guy and that is all I did, but now I'm breaking out, can someone please provide a step by step walkthrough with MinGW?

PLEASE!

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!

Devon,

Can't wait for the future guides! But yeah I bought the engine around the time this post first started, and I thought heck if someones working on a newbie guide then maybe I can get my hands dirty with it. I'm used to using 3D Game Studio, so I was afraid of the whole C++ bit. Thanks to your guide I think I will be able to get better equiped with Torque and just forget about Conitecs product all together.
