So is this guide lost forever? Does anyone have a link that works, or (miracle beyond miracles) a copy of this elusive guide?

It's not lost forever. The gug server was destroyed in a fire but all of the data was safely backed-up, so is recoverable. Since this is funded out-of-pocket, it will take some time to restore the servers and connections, but probably won't need to wait for the insurance company to pay out, though. My guess is another week or two.

If you need a temporary spot to put the tutorial, I'd be glad to host it on ym own server.

I wanted to take the guide down anyway, it needs to go through some changes, i'll post again when it ready for public viewing

any word on the tut? I've had TGE for a few months now, and I still feel lost and/or overwhelmed a good part of the time (less than when I started, though). A good guide to organize and make sense of some of the beginner information would be great and greatly appreciated (at least by me).
thanks,
joel

Devon is working with us to make his tutorial a part of the official Torque documentation. Once we have something that is ready for testing, we will have some testers for feedback. Watch for news. Be patient.-Jeff Tunnell GG

Sergei: I understand how you feel, however I am only human and being so I can only dedicate a certain amount of time per week fleshing out topics due to my day job and all. But just to give you idea of what i'm up against, the documentation will have over twice as much content as the original revision.

I have 24 hours in a day just like everyone else. 10 I usually spend sleeping, 5 days a week i work from 9 til about 6-6:30pm as a sale rep. On saturdays I have piano lessons, 1/2 hour a day I practice the piano and another 1/2 hour i practice my guitar. Now, the point i'm getting at is that I have at least 2 full man hour days till I complete this guide, I'm pushing as much time as I can to get this done, its no easy task. All I'm asking for is a little patience, once done I will hand it over to Jeff who at his sole discretion will decide who will get to test read the new guide.

Remember that there are no precident documents for what I am writing, which means that everything I am writing has to be learnt from scratch. Now here's a little teaser, this is the current planned table of contents over 60% of the content is now complete. However, do expect changes. These topics are not set in stone. Actually this should be in the documentation forum. hmmm i think i will have to post there as well.
