FX Foliage replicator

I was trying to add a few of these into a level I am building. The first 2 work great but I can seem to get a third one to render anything. Is there a Limit to the amount of these you can put in a level?
Thanks

There is no upper-limit other than memory/fps constraints that I'm aware of.

Melv any chance of adding your culling code to the fx_shape replicator?

To answer your question, yes it could be done and would probably be a couple of evenings work to get it working right but to answer the question you've not asked, I haven't got the time at the moment.
One of the things I wanted to do and I've got everything I need to do it now is configure the foliage replicator to show meshes close-up and billboards futher out.
Bendik seems to be moving along nicely with this and seems to have more time than I so perhaps he would take up the challenge?
When my game is finished, around end of Feb 2003, I will be getting back to developing more goodies.

Currently the rendering of TSStatic shapes that the replicator creates is handled by the shapes themselves and not the replicator. To answer your question, yes it could be done and would probably be a couple of evenings work to get it working right but to answer the question you've not asked, I haven't got the time at the moment.

I'm severely out of time my self. I am at the last phase of my thesis, and the time is running away so incredibly fast.
Funny thing is that I hope to have more time at the end of January too. Once I have handed in my thesis.

Perhaps we should do some kind of collaboration sometime next year, see what we can come up with?

Apperantly I didn't have the little yellow marker box far enough off the ground. I could't figure it out even did a rebuild on my code.
I just needed to get them up in the air a few meters more.
Thanks
Matt
I forgot I wanted to ask one more question. I know the foliage by default always drops to the ground or any object you allow it on. Is there a setting that would let it place foliage say within the box whether or not it is on the ground or in the air. Maybe somthing that would put leaves on a tree or somthing. Just question not request if it doesn't do it. Just wondering.
Thanks again

This would only only take a couple of minutes so I guess I can make this mod this evening for you.

It would be easy to make that modification. You could do it if all the constraints were off. If that was so then the replicator could revert to placing everything on the same plane. This would only only take a couple of minutes so I guess I can make this mod this evening for you.

SO: so far I've got the police box, and most of the parts for the console. I've been able to get flux capacitors in bulk from a local motherboard manufacturer. I'm still having some trouble, not sure if I need to add a steering wheel from a 1983 DeLorian. That component may be some trouble to get, but then it may be just the thing.
At the moment, all I've been able to do is get it to go 'boink'. Not sure what's wrong. How's yours going?

Melv, I'll second the request for a time machine. I really need you to make a time machine for me, or at least give me some pointers on the one I'm working on, as you've said you would start some experiments in 'making time' this evening.SO: so far I've got the police box, and most of the parts for the console. Having it go "Boink!" is a good thing. Scientific progress goes "Boink."

Mine's all ready but I just can't get hold of any uranium/plutonium so I've been sitting on my roof with a big ol' lightning rod for the last week.
I've calculated that I need 1.21GW of energy to send me back to 1981 armed with the Torque engine with the headers changed to "(C) Melv May - Some parts of this may have been done by others in the future".
Hee...Hee...Cackle... I'm gonna' make a mint!
