A true TGB community ?

I don't get the point of 2 forums like a general one and a private one.
Everythings is spilled everywhere!
There's old threads with more than 1 or 2 months without any answers, no interesting activities nor cool updates.
Is TGB a complete product for you ?
Don't you thing it's time to have a look to the forum and ways people interact with each others ?
It's clearly not optimized.

As Brain mentioned, the reason for the public / private split is demo vs paying customers. The private forums generally have more activity.
With the demo now including scripts, some of the sub-forums might benefit from a move into public category and just keeping engine/source forums in private. However, the split does also help give more to paying customers than those who may be using the engine without a license, so in that sense I can see the advantages in keeping the split.

You can adjust your forum subscriptions so that you only see the forums for products you own, or that you're interested in seeing.As Brain mentioned, the reason for the public / private split is demo vs paying customers. The private forums generally have more activity.

The new website will have much better search functionality as well (finally!). The search is a constant pain that we know needs to be fixed.

TGB is definitely a full product and one of my favorite engines. Melv and Philip are working hard on the next version of the engine. Others are as well, but they are putting in extra hours to bring in the funk.The new website will have much better search functionality as well (finally!). Very interesting. I've owned TGB for a few weeks and didn't even know there were private forums for this product. It might be worthwhile to let people know about the private forums immediately after purchase... Or maybe I missed where it was mentioned. :)

@Fredric - I don't know about immediately after, but one of the first places you should visit on the site is the TGB Documentation Landing Page. One subsection of that page is the Community Area.
