Here's another example of using Archipelis Designer to quickly turn your concept art sketches, paintings, photos and drawings into 3D models for use in games.

The mobile animation was done in Carrara with the 3D fish models fully textured directly imported from .x files as saved from Archipelis.
Archipelis saves to a bunch of useful formats including SecondLife, DIrect X, Wavefront .obj, DXF, VRML and more.
If you have a photo of something, it can become a 3D model, fully textured from the photo, in seconds.

It's been 5 years since I renewed the domain. Didn't remember when to renew it, and I only had seen one short and cryptic looking email reminder that it was about to expire in 5 days (by Nov. 11). LOL, I thought it was a phishing attempt.
Not to worry, it's all back to normal: www.thebest3d.com
It also is accessible through www.dogwaffle.info
That all said, I noticed that there were a few orders of PD Particles from here at GG a few days ago, I hope this didn't scare any new users. Be sure to grab the newest free update patch for PD Particles 1.1 at www.thebest3d.com/pdp/help

Thanks for the tutorial - the archipelis tutorials were pretty thin, naming features when there are only icons in the program so that I have to figure out for myself what the Modify Contour" icon is, etc. I've downloaded their demo and will likely buy the product to try it out for content creation in second life - im having an issue tho. When i Start the application the default settings are the pointer (leftmost icon) and the edit icon (pencil). With these selected I can draw a 2d contour just fine. then I edit the contour to adjust the line, and then - i cant edit anymore. Setting the pointer and the pencil icons active and dragging with the right mouse button do nothing at all. Is this just a problem of the demo application perhaps? Or am I being so obtuse as to miss something that must be done first before i can edit a new shape?
As a followup, When i edit the contour and then click on the draw icon the orginal shape is there, as if its ignoring my modification to the contour - some sort of commit process required?
