How to restore all GUI Profiles ?

by Steven Wong · in Torque Game Builder · 11/06/2008 (12:56 am) · 4 replies

Hi,

I'm a newbie of TGB, after few days of development, I'm having a annoying problem about GUI builder.

I created few projects for testing, but today I found out that all the GUI profile (in GUI Builder), except "Example*", are suddenly gone, I try to create a new project, and also open the sample games, but still missing all GUI profiles in GUI Builder.

I just don't know what happen, so I uninstall & re-install TGB (latest 1.7.4 pro), the GUI profiles are back if I open sample games & create new project, but if I open those projects I created before, then all GUI profiles are disappear again.......

anyone had the same problem before ? or any idea about how solve this problem ?

    You probably have a scripting error somewhere in your gui profile script file. Check the console.

    Thanks for your reply

    I checked console log, it has couple messages near the end :

    Executing C:/Documents and Settings/Administrator/Application Data/GarageGames/TorqueGameBuilder/RSSCache.cs.
    Set::getObject index out of range.
    Loading compiled script C:/Projects/_blahblah_/game/gui/mainmenu.gui.
    Set::getObject index out of range.

    is it the one that trigger the problem ?

    More info about console log

    the above log messages are from TGB's program folder, there is no error / warning around loading gui profile script, also I checked my game's console log, there is no error / warning too. I checked the gui/profiles.cs (my game project), all gui profiles are there, they just can't load...

    I know it's kind of hard to understand the whole problem (just using the forum), is there any other idea ?

    it's pretty annoying here, b'cuz after all gui profiles gone (GUI Builder), they never come back, even I open sample game projects, the only chance is uninstall & reinstall TGB... :( ( but open my game project will made them gone again...)

    Bumping this old thread because I am experiencing the same problem, but with TGB 1.7.6 Pro.
